Visualization of mitochondria is necessary to observe the interaction between mitochondria and other organelles. Fluorescent protein labeling, immunostaining, and fluorescent probes are commonly used for this purpose, although each of these methods has its own flaws. The fluorescent protein labeling method requires gene transfer, and certain methods of immunostaining may be incompatible with multiple staining, depending on the animal species of the primary antibody. This trichrome-type staining results in red-colored fibrin and muscle tissues. On the other hand, collagen and older fibrin clusters take on a blue hue.The Martius Scarlet Blue (MSB) staining method serves as a valuable tool for visualizing fibrin, particularly the older clusters. The associated stain kit is designed to facilitate the histological demonstration of fibrin, muscle, collagen, and erythrocytes.
